KARTING RACE RULES

No karts to be driven in pits, anyone driving in pits will be disqualified and asked to leave. All Trailers must be equipped with a Fire Extinguisher. "These rules are for the safety of everyone"
The flagman's decision is final. Any discussion with the flagman is to be done at the end of the evening. If this rule is broken, the Kart # involved will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Changes after March 1, 2010 will be in RED Flag Rules:
General Track Rules: 1. The use of Alcohol and or Drugs are Prohibited. Any driver found abusing this rule will be disqualified for the day or night and be told to leave the premises. No alcohol will be tolerated in the Pit Areas. Anyone caught abusing this rule will be asked to leave the premises and if needed WILL be escorted off by a Law Enforcement Officer. 2. Abusive Language or gestures toward any track official WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION WILL RESULT AND DRIVER WILL BE TOLD TO LEAVE. Anyone approaching the Race Director, Flagman, Turn Marshall or any Official, in an argumentative manner is subject to be ejected from the racetrack for that event and cause the associated driver and kart to be black flagged. ZERO TOLERANCE. 3. Pit crew or Karting participant starting an argument resulting in physical confrontations will be disqualified. No warning will be given. ZERO TOLERANCE. 4. All drivers must have approved helmet, gloves, neck brace, jacket or racing suit and shoes on during the event. 5. All drivers MUST attend the drivers meeting. If you DO NOT ATTEND, then you WILL NOT have any rights for an argument later. 6. Drivers and crew members are responsible for checking the lineup board for starting positions. 7. No one is allowed on the track but the track officials. 8. No tools are allowed beyond starting grid entrance. No working on karts on starting grid. You can use a tire gauge to let air out of tires on grid. You cannot put air in a tire on the grid. 9. No working on karts by the pit crew after the race starts. Only one pit crew member will be allowed to restart a kart during event (after approval from a track official.) 10. While under a Caution or Red Flag Condition: NO WORKING ON KARTS BY ANYONE! Penalty: BLACK FLAG. Exception at the discretion of the Race Director / Flagmen. 11. After one (1) double-file start, the front row will be moved back two (2) rows on the next re-start. A second false start will result in a final single file re-start. If anyone spins out and the officials determine that the kart held-up the race intentionally, he will be BLACK FLAGGED! 12. If you leave the track you will NOT be allowed to return to the race. 13. No rough driving will be tolerated. This rule will be strictly enforced! 14. When flagged with the move over flag for one lap and it is ignored, you will be black flagged for that race. When black flagged for any reason, you must leave the track immediately. 15. All karts involved in an accident will be placed in the rear of the line-up for a re-start. Only exception is if you spin out / stop to avoid wreck. 16. No one other that the Officials or directed individuals are allowed on the track. Penalty: Black Flag for the Kart Driver– Official’s Decision. 17. Top five (5) karts are required to cross the scales after every race. No one is allowed to touch the kart before they go across the scales. If this rule is not complied with, result will be a disqualification. The top five (5) karts to finish the feature race are to proceed directly to the tech. impound area immediately after you leave the scales with the kart as raced. 18. If any driver stops on the track, for any problems, and removes their racing gear, they will be considered finished for that race. 19. All rules are to apply to each competitor equally. Track Officials will adhere to these rules. If a problem occurs during a race and the race has already been completed, it’s IMPOSSIBLE TO RERUN A RACE. Every effort will be made to insure that the problem does not happen again. We welcome your comments and suggestions, as long as they are made in a calm and rational manner. 21. Classes may be added or deleted at track’s discretion depending on participation. 22. The track reserves the right to adjust weights and rules in all classes at ANY time in the interest of competition.
KARTING CLASSES All engine rules are per WKA rule book unless noted under track engine rules
Track Engine Rules
Beginner: Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Purple Restrictor Plate. Ages 8-10 Minimum Weight 265 lbs. May use a Champ Kart with roll cage. After 5 wins, at the track’s discretion, the driver will be required to start at the rear of the field or move up to the Briggs Sportsman 1 class.
Briggs Sportsman 1: Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Purple Restrictor Plate. Ages 8-10 Minimum Weight 265 lbs.
Briggs Sportsman 2: Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Blue Restrictor Plate. Ages 10-12 Minimum Weight 290 lbs.
Briggs Junior: Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Gold Restrictor Plate. Ages 12-15 Minimum Weight 320 lbs.
Briggs Masters: Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Animal Engine must ADD 25 lbs. Ages 35 + Minimum Weight 375 lbs.
Adult Stock Classes: Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Animal Engine must ADD 25 lbs. Ages 16 + Classes will run separately Light- Minimum Weight 325 lbs. Medium- Minimum Weight 350 lbs. Heavy- Minimum Weight 375 lbs. Super Heavy- Minimum Weight 400 lbs. Maximum Kart Wt 200 lbs. Minimum Driver Wt 200 lbs.
Box Stock (Clone): Spec engine: 6.5 (OHV) yellow clone. Only engine allowed for the BS Class. Ages 16 + Light- Minimum Weight 325 lbs. Heavy- Minimum Weight 375 lbs. The Dyno CL 1 cam will be allowed. You can disconnect or remove the governor. You can disconnect the oil sensor and off/on switch. Spec Clutch: (Drum) Shoe type clutch only. You can use any size back gear. 35 link chain only. The clutch driver- tooth will be determined after three races. Gasoline Only: 87 to 93 octane rating. (Will be checked with – Digatron Fuel Meter) Tires: Maxxis EL tires are the only tires allowed in the class.
Claimer Rule: You must finish in the top 5 to purchase the winners engine (minus the clutch/chain guard/throttle kit) for $300. The engines in this class will be inspected as any other class. Technical inspection will include a visual check against a known Good Box Stock part on all teched parts. Anyone refusing to tear down or sell their engine (Per the claimer rule) will be disqualified and not allowed to race (in the BS Class) for the remainder of the season! (This penalty has to be stiff in order for this class to work)
Stock Appearing Stock Flat Head or Animal Engine. Animal Engine must ADD 25 lbs. Ages 16+ Minimum Weight 375 lbs. Engine tech consists only of an external visual inspection (NO PROTEST)! Externally, the engine, carburetor, and fuel tank must appear to be a stock 5 hp Briggs & Stratton Flat Head Engine with a these exceptions: 1. A stock 5hp. or billet flywheel is mandatory. 2. Vent tubes from crank case must go to a catch can. 3. Must have Stock Briggs Cast Carburetor. Epoxy on carburetor is OK. 4. Only welding is to be for repairs. No welding on cylinder above crank case 5. Engine block girdles/braces strongly recommended 6. Only 100% methanol (fuel will be checked!) 7. Anything else inside is OK (rod, crank, piston, cam, etc.)
Open Class: Any 2 or 4 stroke engine (NO CUBIC INCH RULE) (2) cyls max, two single cyl. engines OK Ages 16 + Minimum Weight 375 lbs. Slicks only. No cut / grooved tires. “Run What You Brung and Hope You Brung Enough” | ||
